Complimentary and Integrative Health

3DI investigators examine Complementary and Integrative Health (CIH) approaches to enhance the well-being of veterans and other populations. Their work encompasses the evaluation and integration of non-pharmacological approaches such as mindfulness, acupuncture, yoga, and other Whole Health practices alongside conventional medical treatments. They aim to determine the effectiveness of these CIH modalities in managing chronic conditions, improving mental health, and enhancing overall quality of life. By exploring the mechanisms through which these integrative practices alleviate symptoms and promote healing, these investigators seek to develop comprehensive, patient-centered care models. Their research endeavors contribute to a broader understanding of CIH, advocating for its incorporation into standard healthcare practices to provide more holistic and effective treatment options for patients. 3DI investigators have collaborations with investigators in the UCSF Osher Center for Integrative Health.
