Currently, 3DI investigators mentor 11 junior faculty at other VA sites. Through 3DI, Drs Amy Byers and Beth Cohen will lead our Mentoring Core to assist Jr. Faculty at the San Francisco VA in the transition to independent investigators. Dr. Byers has extensive experience in guiding such transitions, as she is a nationally recognized mentor for the NIMH’s Advanced Research Institute where she oversees scholars’ transition to independent grant funding and career advancement.
