MISSION STATEMENT
The Mission of the 3DI Veteran Engagement Group (VEG), comprised of Veterans and/or caregivers, is to strengthen Veteran engagement in VA Health Systems Research. The VEG dialogues directly with research staff to provide meaningful Veteran perspective and input on VA Health Systems research development, design, and implementation.
This past year, the VEG met with a wide range of researchers investigating a diverse research portfolio. The VEG members provided feedback on:
Recruitment Material for a national VA toxic exposure grant.
A grant proposal investigating cannabis use and the role of the Primary Care Physician.
Suicide prevention in the Veteran population.
Treatment of pain in Veterans with advanced liver disease.
And many more.
In each instance, the researchers made modifications to their proposals, surveys, and recruitment materials in response to the feedback, with the primary goal of making grants more accessible the Veterans.
We are currently inviting new members! We are looking for:
Veterans of every service, age, sex, and race,
Family members of Veterans,
Caregivers of Veterans.
The 3DI VEG meets every other Tuesday at noon using a virtual TEAMS meeting.
Participation can be compensated.
