Introduction to Qualitative Interviewing and Rapid Analysis in Health Services Research

This curriculum is designed to orient health services researchers to the basics of qualitative interviewing and rapid analysis. It focuses on qualitative techniques developed for qualitative data collection/analysis in structured, fast-paced health services research projects, quality-improvement research, and implementation/process evaluations, where qualitative data are often gathered as part of a larger mixed methods research plan. This course will prepare you to conduct semi-structured interviews and analyze qualitative data using template-based rapid analysis procedures.
The curriculum includes:
- embedded references to recommended readings
- sample qualitative research materials (instruments, analysis matrices, etc.) drawn from completed studies and quality-improvement projects
- reflection exercises
